Mijas different views...

From Mijas

You can actually see my apartment complex in the far left corner right near the edge of the frame. The houses are along the road where I walk Jeni, yet the view of the query is much smaller. As I write this, I realize that the size of the query is big but really well hidden from the town that is so close to it. It also recently closed down...I think.

Our first time ordering 'Menu del Dia.' This was my first course and the best food of the meal. It was funny and tasty, but you can't really mess up smoked salmon too much... It's funny and sad, the food here in Spain is sometimes really great, in this case very funny, but other times it's just not good. You would think that because there are so many restaurants in Costa Del Sol, the bad food wouldn't sell, but the competition isn't that much better... But, that being said, the tourists here are English and German. Something Alan brought up the other day: Why did the Empires want to expand and conquer far away lands? For Spice and Salt, having control over massive numbers of people was secondary if they can't make good spice... Next, WHO wanted this? The English, and why is their food still bland?

Thank goodness the service was excellent and the view was one of a kind.

There is a bullfight going on in the bull ring, but you can only see that there are people in the stadium... I missed this fight but am looking forward to watching our new bartender and neighbor be the Matador on May 3rd. Exciting!!!! I can go to him for the tickets and not rely on my Spanish to translate the sign for the fight.

The fight you see there, I didn't get tickets to. Why? Because although it seemed like a lot of Bulls, I thought was occurring Monday through Friday at 10:30 and 5:30... turns out that this fight was on Sunday, and the tickets weren't sold at the door... they were sold, I bet you can guess, Monday through Friday. Yeah. Sometimes, you can't really photograph the 'lost in translation' and high hopes of 'bullfights happening ALL the time in Spain.'

Out with The Family...

We went out with Alan's sister, husband and two children.

These swings fit young children in them so they don't fall out. It works well for babies who are seven months old too! They are rectangular and uncomfortable for adults ...what a shame, I couldn't hog the swing from a child.

I spent much of the Easter Festivities, wondering when and where they were... I was quite disappointed. The papers said when the services were and not as much about the parades... honestly, I feel really stupid and bummed out because I didn't get to see them. So instead of Easter photographs, I have photographed other bit's of Spain this week.
Above is green houses, which are large plastic tarps that are tents above the trees.
