i night off. being american has been stressful the last week. voting, on time, not that every one i saw wasn't reminding me to get there. being american has been hard this week. there is an economical crisis and the government saved it, everyone then thanks god and complains that god isn't written on the new dollar coin. the new crisis is now on the credit crisis, which the government, hasn't 'fixed' yet. it's been hard being an american this week. unfortunaly, i've been in my apartment most the week so i have no idea if the rest of the country is thinking we are alone in feeling poor or if they realize that the war is now on our turff too. we are defending our second amendment right, finally we are able to take the gays to supreme court and tell the rest of the rest of the world that that it isn't their constitutional right to prevent other people from having rights. it's been a hard week being an american.

tonight, i was able to take it off. lay in bed with my dog sleeping on my lap, watch tv... it's okk to be me...

Dreaming

Today I thought I should share a dream. possibly a very american dream.

The hope of jumping on the bike and traveling. Traveling across the one of the largest countries in the world with my man and my camera (and possibly the laptop) traveling and sending my journies to magizines in hopes of a story getting published, bloging and seeing America.

my iGoogle told me....

Seeing though I'm not sure what this blog is for i will share what my iGoogle told me as a 'quote of the day.

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.
- Ellen Goodman

I realize today, I am not normal and I'm ok with that. Today, I was given proof. Thank you Ellen.

By No Means Average

Mercedes C. Muñoz launched By No Means Average with her amazing limited edition clothing! Photographs done by yours truely. Thank you Mercedes for picking me as your photographer, it was a blast!
I took this when I was walking with a friend of mine. They haven't been alive long enough to understand OBEY, or why I was photographing this. But I wonder if the person who made OBEY expected that it would be transformed like this.

i wonder what he thinks. i wish i had a chance to see him when he was here in SF

Faita

I don't want to quote others, and i don't want to bore myself. today, i think of that which has already been said by others, and how, if i want to tell the world the same thing, will i find different words?

To "The Gladding Barn"

My thoughts go to the families in Lincoln CA. Today A fire broke out in Lincoln. There is more details here. I hope that they are all safe. I took this photo on my first trip up to Lincoln to visit my friend's new house. I wasn't sure were I was which is why it's called the Gladding Barn, when in fact it is on McCourntey Rd. It was a warm day and the Polaroid looks just like the one above with the texture and everything!

I came back to photograph the barn again a little more than a year later. Here is the digital image I made of it:

First Day...

This is from the first day I went to work. I wanted to be there. I think there are so many things waiting to be photographed. For those of you who know I love old things, i love cars, and I love being around this everyday. It's strange but it makes the hard parts of the job a little easier when I see such pretty things...
I'm still working on the workshops for people with digital cameras and photographing the delta...

starting with the days of the recent past...

I just got a job working at Pier 38. I do a little bit of everything....from the glamorous to the not so much is learning how to drive boats, parking cars, photographing things for sale, and cleaning up the back area. The Light in there is so beautiful. There are pictures inside and outside from the back.
